  • False accusation - where do I stand?

I have wrongly been accused of performing a lewd or rude gesture by a 3rd party regarding a member of management. This is now being discussed to decide whether it warrants a full investigation. I really would like to know, if should this become an investigation, and the third party is believed whether I could lost my job over this. I have worked at this company for nearly 4 years with no blotches on my record and would hate to lose my job over this!!!

Who has made the allegation and what evidence do they have?

Could they have misrepresented something you said or did?

I think they have misrepresented what I did as I did nothing disrespectful at all! The allegation has been made by a co-worker and I think it must be just word of mouth. She can have no evidence as nothing happened. I am sure they have misrepresented or misunderstood what took place because I did nothing at all disrespectful. I cannot believe that this has been blown up like this and would hate to lose my job of 4 years over this.

most employment issues get blown up and always look worse on paper,

Can't really help until the investigation begins.
