  • definition meaning please

    Hello

    I instructed a solicitor and gave names of three firms in my document, they said there appears to be a conflict of interest - I just wondered what this means please - does it mean that's been one of their clients or oponents in the past please

    Indeed, your solicitor may be acting for one of the firms you are taking action against in another matter. Has your solicitor declined taking on your case?

    SRA Handbook says;

    'Conflicts of interests means any situation where:

    you owe separate duties to act in the best interests of two or more clients in relation to the same or related matters, and those duties conflict, or there is a significant risk that those duties may conflict (a 'client conflict');or

    your duty to act in the best interests of any client in relation to a matter conflicts, or there is a significant risk that it may conflict, with your own interests in relation to that or a related matter (an 'own interest conflict')'

    Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.

        I suffered negligence from each one of these firms, even though I gave in older thread that a friend had I had as well. They went by my resignation for my depression and even though my grievance was dated November 2009 they ignored it. They did not even write to Doctor to make sure it was from 2009-2010 I also have a clinical legal doctors report which says from this period and not from my resignation.
