  • 'Attendance Pay' and holiday pay

Hi there, this is my first post and would be grateful for any help you can offer.

I am employed full time as an HGV driver. My weekly wage slip includes entries for 'Basic Pay' and 'Attendance Pay'. Total wage is split equally between the two, and I receive the same every week.

However when I take holidays, I am only paid my 'Basic Pay' because I am not in attendance - so while on holiday leave I only receive half pay effectively. Looking at gov.uk guidance, this does not seem right. I should be paid what I am paid each week in normal employment according to that.

Does anybody have any advice as to what the situation is with this please? Any help gratefully received. Thank you.

It certainly sounds like they're pulling a fast one.

Do you have a written contract or any other documents about the terms and conditions of this employment?
If so, can you quote exactly what it says about 'Attendance pay'.
