I keep reading that as "a bum hole in the seat...".

It might be suitable for a driver with itchy piles.

Yes, I understand now - the turning moment on the lift platform was the result of the camber of the road as much as the towing direction.

Had you been instructed to extend the wheels before moving the contraption?

no training of towing anything have grandads rights C1E on license.
told you have entitlement to tow: SO JUST TOW ! :boink:

in the 2 years i have been there i only towed this model twice the first time the wheels were already extended
          so it towed fine.

            not that i had
So,,they don't have to prove you DID....you now have to prove you DIDN'T

            You smoke
A hole (looking very much like a cigarette burn hole) has appeared in a cab you were driving
You've told them that you leant on that seat with a cigarette in your hand and you MAY have burnt the hole

Their assumption that you were actually smoking in the van couldn't be substantiated, which is good,,but without thinking (and we are all guilty of doing this at times) you gave them another reason.

                  It obviously was.

But where was the hole in the seat? Was it on the part on which one sits, or on the back of the seat?

Then you don't know if you did it, or even if there was a hole burned in the seat.

What sort of covering did the seat have - leather, cloth or plastic?

Re: My question about unfair dismissal

So they disciplined you and dismissed you for a hole in the seat that they alleged was you, yet they provided you no evidence of the hole at all. They should have presented photographic evidence prior to any meeting to allow you chance to review the evidence and prepare a defense.
