  • Agency

Hi I recently applied for a job via an agency with a company that I worked for many years ago. I did not depart this company in good terms, as I raised a grievance for bullying and performance tampering, the whole case lasted for more than six months and I resigned.

I was short listed and offered the job at my interview, the contract was for a short period of time due to budget restrictions. Like me, all contracts would loose their contract on the final day of my contract, but those that performed and did a good job would be rehired in the new year.

In the last few days of starting the company did a U - turn stating to the agency that they would not be able to hire me due to a restriction on a head count. I have put down large non refundable deposit on a place, as I was having to relocate and I handed in my notice.

I asked the agency if they would rehire me in the new year, and the agency said, no I would not be able to apply to that manager, the agency would put my cv to other managers different departments, but would have to go through the interview process, I find this a little shocking and disturbing.

I would be keen to know what avenues are open to me?

    Kind regards,

    Moh Ali

    Re: Agency

Do you believe the company decided against hiring you after checking their records and finding the details of your previous employment with them and the circumstances regarding your leaving ?

Was the interview at the company or at the agency ?

Had you actually started employment ( '' In the last few days of starting the company '' not sure if that means you worked for a few days or within a few days of when you were due to start )

Why would you want to work at a company who treated you so poorly the last time you worked with them ?

      Re: Agency

1). This was an interview with the company, through the agency
2). No, all checks were complete, and I was meant to start in three days time
3). I wanted to change the bull shit that was written in my performance review, and leave the company after the end of contract.
