  • Finance reporting

My employer requires us to report financial products we and immediate family members purchase within a certain time frame.

I cannot force my immediate family members to tell me about their finances, I can only ask.

My employer is now punishing me for not having reported something that one of my family told me about outside of the time frame and I consequently reported late. Given under GDPR - it is not lawful for me to forcibly obtain access to someone else's financial information, how can they then punish me for not forcing someone to tell me about things?

Is the requirement set out as a contractual term in your contract of employment or written into a company policy or procedure?

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.

They cannot impose such an obligation, but you were free not to accept it.
