The company I work for has installed more CCTV cameras in the building.The rest areas now have CCTV when they didn't* before and now with audio recording.There are no signs saying that audio is being recorded and very little signage anyway.Is this allowed?

Firstly if your employer is using CCTV, then they must register their details with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and they may need to pay a data protection fee, unless they are exempt.

The employer also needs to:

* tell people they may be recorded, usually by displaying signs, which must be clearly visible and readable
* control who can see the recordings
