    i was fired for taking a photo(on my work phone) of the companies end of year results, these were on a plain piece of paper with no reference to them being confidential and were on the printer, i have not shared the photo with anyone, is this allowed?

          Do you have a confidentiality clause in your contract? Normally most contracts do and they cover things like the financial trading position of the company.

          Unfortunately, with less than 2 years’ service, you can be dismissed without your employer giving any reason at all, unless it falls under one of the few exception rules or is potentially discriminatory. Although, ideally they should go through a disciplinary process some employer choose not to because of the 2 year period.*

            Difficult as you’re under the 2 years service. I would chance going through the companies appeal process. You should have been entitled to a proper disciplinary hearing to air all sides and reasoning.*
