I have given you the gross figures so yes tax and NI will need to be deducted, but even so would not think it would take it down to a net amount given on the post-it note. If you do go to the next stage your manager being away should not be an issue since it would need to be heard by someone else and she should have written up notes of the meeting.

After the meeting she sent a long, oddly worded email. It does say in it that my pay would be back dated to when my previous manager left the business although leaves out the bit about holidays etc.
Just want this to be done. I'm in today and Friday, don't want my last two days to be a fight.
Thank you so much for your help and advice, I really appreciate it.

Got to the bottom of it - HR have put me in at point 26 (£29,636) because that is the bottom of one of the bands. It's something to do with old and new contracts, because I'm on a new contract I have to go in at the bottom of a band and cannot work my way through it. However, the Head of HR (my boss) told me I was on point 28, which is the bottom of an upper band. HR told me we don't use that particularly band. So, as my boss isn't in, they've had to text her and get her say so. Don't know if it's a miscommunication between my boss and HR or deliberate but either way, so annoying.
Plus, my replacement has started and HR are under strict instructions to ensure we don't meet...because I'm going to scream at her to run away or something :/
14 hours to go
