  • I want to litigate against Meta INC in the UK

They are insisting that they have no UK presence and I need to do so in the USA.

Which is a bit odd that I found an address for them in Kings Cross. They told me this was not linked to Meta.

Then I found this phone from when the building was opened - so are they lying to me then?

A simple internet search reveals several Meta office locations in the UK. These may of course be the offices of UK registered subsidiary companies.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Meta have a large presence in the UK and their offices in Kings Cross are said to eventually have 5,000 staff.

However, Companies House lists no active Meta companies in the UK. They did have Meta UK holding companies in the past but these appear to have been dissolved. The Kings Cross offices of Meta may be locations of Meta Inc which is presumably why they have told you that you have to sue Meta Inc and they are located in California.

Possibly some confusion in terminology and when they say they have no UK "presence" they mean they have no UK legal entity?

How much do you want to sue them for?
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

Not sure yet...am I able to take their US entity to court in the UK?

See point 7 in the table in CPR6.9: https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/pr...les/part06#6.9

If this is not possible, you will need permission of the court to serve your claim form out of the jurisdiction.
