  • Bailiffs!

Can anyone please advise me if a bailiff can visit
a person’s property without due notice, under any
    circumstances?

Please excuse me, just joined and never had a need
    before to look for help

If anyone could advise I would be most grateful

If I have misread the intent of this forum, apologies!

    Hi FLEXIBLE

    Welcome to LB

They should give notice, simply because it 'defeats' the object, if they don't.
If they arrive and you aren't there, all they can do is, drop off a calling card.

They have guidelines, if those have been breached, then lodge a complaint on their website, follow their complaints procedure.

They must give 7 days notice, I'm not aware of any exceptions, but they can come any time after the 7 days, they don't have to give an exact day and time. They aren't supposed to come on Sundays or bank holidays.

Hi, I have received a letter for the second time, from JACOBS ENFORCEMENT AGENTS LTD. The reference to the case brought against me by said agency is: xxx, the council/client reff no; xxx, letter dated 09/03/2026 and the letter received on the 19/03/2026. Following this info there is in large red print REMOVAL ACTION IMMINENT AMOUNT DUE:£xxx Our Client: HMCTS - South Wales Warrant of control Dated: 08/12/2025.
I wasn’t sure if the first letter was some sort of scam, however I looked into it further and come to find that I had paid someone to clear my garden. I later found out that the person who I paid to clear said garden had illegally fly tipped my rubbish and a letter with my name on a letter had been discovered as a result of whoever investigated the fly tipping incident. I have played no part in this incident and have tryed to make it clear before. I am a single mother of two teenage boys and further more I don’t drive, hence my paying someone to take the rubbish away. If I did drive I would have booked a free journey to the rubbish tip. Can you please amend this issue and make JACOBD REMOVAL TEAM preventing any further action brought against me, wrongly effecting my finances and credit information all for actions that have been brought against an innocent party To verify that I have been a team writing this letter you can contact her directly on her mobile number xxx. And my name is xxx Contact number xxx

We cannot take any action on your behalf to stop Jacobs but hopefully someone will be able to advise you what you should do next.

The fly tipping would have been examined by the council and your details found. You should have been contacted by the council and asked to come for an interview at which point you could have told them who you paid to take it and the action would be taken against them. If you paid them to take it and do not provide the council with the person's details the liability is legally yours. You have a duty to check that anyone you employ has a waste tipping licence too. This matter must have come to court - did you not get any notifications? I assume an order has been made against you as you did not turn up. It is a very strange case if so. My advice would be to contact environmental health at your council on Monday and explain the situation in full. Also contact your local councillor who will advocate for you. As for baliffs - if they turn up do not let them in. Keep doors locked - they can enter if they do not have to force entry.
