  • Loan to friend advice

A relative loaned some money to a friend/ neighbour. This friend of hers has paid a small amount back and still owes the rest and it's been over a year of false promises. My relative moved and still their friend has not paid the money she now has realised they have no intention of doing so. I suggest the smalls claims court. The money was done via bank transfer so is traceable. Could someone advise what you do in order to do this. The money was lent out of good faith and my relative has asked me could I help hence my post.

Do you have a loan agreement? The friend may well claim it was a gift. Money Claim online is the easiest and best way forward if you wish to make a court claim
