  • Car parking fine - solicitor letter

    Hi

I received a parking ticket in 2016 and ignored the fine as I was in the process of moving to Melbourne . I received no follow up. I’ve recently returned earlier this year and had the attached letter through the post from Gladstone’s solicitors. I would have paid the initial fine but with all the chaos in moving I genuinely forgot and now they are asking for a lot more. Any advice please?

So SAR to the parking company and letter to the solicitor requesting copies of all documents they intend to use in court in order to narrow the issues between you, as expected by the courts. You expect them by return and in any case within 7 days.

Shame you hadn't told them your Melbourne address.* That would gave stopped them dead.

It's not a fine, it's an invoice for an alleged breach of contract
