  • Case law

    Hi

Just wondering if anybody has access to case law that I am unable to obtain without paying for a subscription that I will probably never use again...

The cases are Syed v DPP (2010) and Baker v CPS (2009).

If somebody has access and is willing to send me copies this would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

        Hi,

I don't know if this will be picked up on this existing thread, but there is another case law that I am struggling to find and am hoping for some help again.

The link I found to Bailii says it no longer exists and Casemine seems to bring the wrong one up???...

It's Akita & Anor v Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland [2019] EWHC 1712 (QB)

        Thanks.

https://www.casemine.com/judgement/u...94e0468b4191b5 is that the 'wrong' one? The citation looks the same, albeit 1 page different.

            Hi Atticus,

            Thanks for your reply.

That's the one I found and glanced at it quickly...I thought it was the wrong one, as it doesn't contain the information that I expected, but, having looked at it again, I think it may just be that I can only see paragraphs 1-9.

It should contain Spencer J's comments regarding interpretation of CPR 39.3, but the text that I can see does not reference this at all, but simply ends with his decision that he does have jurisdiction to hear the appeal.

            ...am I missing something??

            Many thanks.

              Your free options are:

              - Contact BAILII and let them know that the judgment is missing, can they investigate and provide you a copy of the judgment that was previously available.
              - Contact the barristers/law firms on either side to see if they have a copy they are willing to supply you.
              - Contact the Court and see if there is a way to obtain the published decision directly from them.

              Payment options are:
              - Pay for a subscription to access the judgment (possibly on a free trial basis).
              - Contact the Law Society Library and see if they have a copy of the decision, which they should have. They provide a document delivery service for the judgment based on the number of pages.

Thanks R0B. I've contacted Bailii and the response is that they do not have it on their database. I have signed up for a free trial on Casemine and, when I click to view the original PDF, I just receive an error message advising that it is an invalid or corrupted file. I have contacted Casemine, but not received any response as yet.

I don't suppose there is anybody on here that has access to the Judgment?

                Thanks again

                  Afraid not no.

Have you tried signing up to this one?

Have had a look at that...thanks R0B. The Judgment I'm looking for doesn't seem to be on there.

I've e-mailed the Court, but not holding out much hope...I don't seem destined to obtain a copy!

                    Thanks again.
