There really should be some clue on the card possibly in miniscule writing

^ There's not. The card is exactly as above apart from the reference number.
These tracing agents regularly appear on my credit files. One even called my mobile claiming to be from a mail forwarding company, and asked me to confirm my address. When I told her that I would contact Royal Mail if I needed mail forwarding she hung up.

HMRC were revealed to be using this technique. Calls for 'Mr X' - who did not exist at all - went to Team A, and so on.

For a laugh i'd like to call them up and ask to speak to Chris White.

When the person starts going on with their spiel, interrupt them and say "sorry, are you Chris White?", and when they say no, "sorry then I can't talk to you, I need to speak to Chris White and its clearly a confidential matter for me to be given his name, and I obviously cant discuss it with you."

Just string em along, got to be some fun at their expense sometime.

All has been quiet for a while (apart from the weekly message from Mack Hall) but today I received a message from a private number. The company Mailsave or Mailsafe claim to have important mail for me. Google links them to Empingham, I've no idea who they are or what they are trying to collect. Google doesn't throw up very much.
Anyone had any dealings with them?

I thought this ploy of pretending to have a parcel was now illegal

                    They're fishing.

You could just ignore it, or you could tell them you now reside at 24 Leinster Gardens, Bayswater, W2 (link)

Wouldn't it be a pity if that number were to appear on "tart cards" left in pub loos and gay bars, offering all manner of sexual services?

They must be keen to deliver my item of mail, as the same woman has now called from three different numbers.

I had a similar experience to this, turned out it was G4S spying for a large insurance company starting with a A and ending with a A
Are you in a contentious insurance claim by any chance?
