Okay good news in that Citi have upheld the PPI complaint as being mis-sold, however they have only given 8% simple interest and go on to say that they await the outcome of the judical review as to how to calculate the interest and that there may be further monies owed.

Well I am quite sure that they are aware that more interest should of been paid, so I need your help in drafting a suitable letter in this regard as it sneakily says that this is in FULL and FINAL settlement

If we accept the cheque enclosed then what do we say to the FOS, can this complaint be lodged??? As it says we can go to the FOS, a bit tricky this one as they have admitted in one hand that there maybe further interest owed, so how would we go about lodging a complaint, grrrhhh!!!!

As Citi have pulled out of card market in UK all cards have been split between a couple of companies, egg did get a number on a whitelabel basis, if they've provided this address then must be one transferred to Egg and I'd use Derby, although I agree it wouldnt do any harm to use both.

UPDATE RE: PENALTY CHARGES

Okay a quick reply to my LBA regarding Penalty Charges sent last week (still waiting for the PPI reply).

The offer has jumped from tiny to a larger random figure , havent a clue where they plucked that figure from as it doesn't mention interest, however is more than the charges total.:tung:
Sooo after them saying they wouldn't give the £12 ones back (see letter earlier in thread), it seems my argument worked hee hee - my guesses is they have added 8% simple to the charges.

Well I will accept that in Part Payment, however I have used Sempra Metals case in restitution for the compound interest , so will go for the extra interest I have claimed which makes the offer £500 short.

Funny that I thought Citi would be difficult, however it seems not

I also dislike gagging clauses in settlement !!!

Well done, Milly. If the offer is approx. £500 short of the Contractual Interest calculation, then it looks as though they have indeed just offered the penalties with 8% SI on them. Adding the Apportioned Debited Interest, AND using the Contractual rate for the Compensatory interest would indeed make a difference of around £500, I think.
