    Re: DCA Advice Please

It caught my eye as my first degree was a pure music degree. I dabble on the piano more than anything nowadays, though French Horn is my main instrument.

You've had two bits of advice within one minute of each other above, and we both said the same thing which is hopefully reassuring for you. Let us know what happens. :beagle:

French Horn - so you have the Strauss concerti to enjoy - my favourite is the first concerto, plus all sorts of other goodies like the Villanelle by Paul Dukas. Wicked piano part in that. I, too, am a musician by first degree, so we share a common interest. However........what a shame such conversations are within the grotty confines of a forum on manky DCA outfits..........

Indeed - I've played both many times, though I agree 1 is nicer than 2 IMO. I love the grandiose start, then the long, beautiful melody up to the top B flat. I actually prefer the music from the Classical period more - traditionalist at heart lol.

You're right about it being a shame we end up discussing DCA's, but hey, a bit of culture on the forums won't harm. Far more interesting than DCA's as well! As for 'grotty,' you'd be surprised what ends up being discussed sometimes in the off topic sections of the forum, history, politics, music, religion .... all sorts. You should hang around and see. :beagle:
