Re: Cabot Financial - Citi Cards

Just a quick question, regarding Citi.
Can they "assign" the same thing twice?
I ask because up to about three years ago we had an "arrangement" with them direct we then had Fredrickson who we wrote to last year requesting "proof" had the reply that it was on "hold" whilst the got info from Citi then nothing until the stuff from Cabot.
also has any one an more info about them adding charges onto an alleged debt they they so far have not "proved" is owing
    Thanks

Did anyone answer this question for you?

I'm not really sure, but I guess if the acount is in dispute with Citi, then maybe now. Don't quote me on this though....

I've have learnt alot from this site and will be sending that letter to CABOT RE the CCA and will be sending a SAR to Citi again to see that they have on me for this year.... Will keep you posted..

The account would be in dispute with Citi if you had CCAed them and they had failed to respond to your CCA request. They are legally in default of your CCA request and as such should not have sold the debt on

Is this the case if they "sold" it to Fredricksons?
                  Should I SAR them ?
Send copies of letters from Cabot?
                  Thanks

I think you should SAR Citi aswell. That way you will have all the information on YOU. All the 'assignments' if any. At least you will k now what is correct and what is not. Send Citi a CCA aswell as apparently they only hold certain dat for 2 years, weird. Thats what it says in my letter for when I did a SAR last year. So it worth doing it again and see what happens....

Got the letters drafted but have another name to add to the mix.
Has anyone heard of Blair Oliver and Scott?

No, haven't heard of Blair Scott and Oliver, but have seen a few threads about them on money saving forum. Have a look and then you will find out what you are dealing with.

Checked my credit file today and have noticed that Cabot have changed my Citi debt to CABOT...Not impressed so have filed and onlne dispute with the agency making it quite clear that I did not have a credit card with Cabot. Cabot has made it look as if I had taken out the credit card with them back in 2007....

Tomorrow I will be claiming my charges etc back from Citi and I sent another SAR and CCA to them. Want to see it they did send an NOA to me. But I believe they never did.

Are they chasing an HBOS account? They are part of HBOS (I think the name is made up to fit the BOS in HBOS) and are completly useless.

                            Hi,

Just had a letter from Cabot regarding my financial situation and they have agreed to freeze interest on my account.

My problem is, I sent them an email on the 27th September offering a payment of £1 a month, for which they have agreed, and on 1st Nov 10 I sent them a letter regarding my CCA ( they didnt send it & returned £1 PO) stating that account was in dispute and I didn't pay them. I have done CCA & SAR to Citi again but because I offered to pay £1 a month by email to Cabot, am I screwed? I still haven't seen the CCA from Cabot, and never received a NOA from Citi. ( but a fake one from Cabot) What do I do now? Help, Im worried now...

It just goes to show that they are sending out generic letters to everyone....Arrrghh!

Well, all I can do is wait and see. But not sure if I'm screwed for the £1 offer via email in the first place. x
