Re: Cabot Finanical - Citi Cards

My other half got the same documnets you mentioned today, probem is that a year ago he requested his documents and agreement via another company called Fredricksons, he did get a reply from them to say they would "freeze" the account and they would write again when they heard from Citi.
Like you he thinks the "Citi" letter looks suspect and wants to know if we shuld contact Cabot AND Citi telling them that due to the lack of responce he now considers this account to be unenforable?
(He has copies of the letters sent to Fredricksons and he did pay the £1 fee but had no responce from them or Citi)

        FOLLOWING with interest.

I have received letter from Cabot....telling me to carry on paying IMS...no idea who IMS is.
CITI did not send me a letter of NOA only letter from CABOT telling me they bought a debt.
Did SAR on CITI who admit they do not have an agreement for my and perhaps they could be an agreement in a different number! Although they sent two years statements in response to SAR reguest....all very strange

Modified one of the templates from this site and sent it to them with copies of letters from last year from Fredricksons.
            Now awaiting devlopments.
Think they have triied to phone but no messages on my answer phone just a long number which BT tell me is from France which is now on my "barred" list
so they HAVE to put it in writing

Re: Cabot Finanical - Citi Cards

Received a letter from Cabot this week saying that they have tried to contact me several times re the Citi account. Lies....Its the second letter and I did contact them, not by phone... Sent them a CCA letter on Wednesday 6th Oct recorded delivery. Then this morning I receive a payment card from them? This was also sent on the 6th Oct....

It just seems that they are sending out letters willy nilly to everyone at the same time and not giving anyone a chance to reply to them.

All, I can say is, I will now wait for the CCA to arrive.

Anyone else received a payment card? Even though you haven't 'come to an arrangement'?

Re: Cabot Finanical - Citi Cards

Just want to double check something. I have already got a default on my credit file from Citi last year. That was due to the fact that I could not afford to increase my payments. Fair enough.

Now, is it true that if someone else buys your account, they are NOT allowed to put a default on your file for the same account? Please let me know if this is true, as I'm hearing that Cabot are very quick to do this.

                Thanks

No you can't have 2 defaults for the same account. Once it's defaulted that's it.

Re: Cabot Finanical - Citi Cards

                        Hi All,

Received a letter this morning from Cabot with a returned PO for £1 which was for the CCA. They have said that they do not accept the statutory fee required under section 77 and/or 78 of the consumer credit act 1974 thats why they have returned the PO/

They have stated that they anticipate that they will be able to p[rovide me this information within 12 days. In the event that they are unlikely to obtain this information within the time limit they will write to me again.

The thing that makes me laught the most is that I also received another letter from them today now excepting my payments for £1 a month! Even though initially6 they ignored my requests and did not acknowledge anything from me. ( Not by telephone)

£1 a month is fine by me, but what do I do about the CCA, surely they ARE supposed to provide this to me?

Also, they have started adding interest onto this acount, when this was frozen by Citi> What can I do about this and what should be my next step?

The first letter from Cabot shows 12% interest.....

Is this allowed? From the 21st Sept 10 until 6th Oct 10 the amount has gone up by about £40! Also, just want to know if they can legally chase this debt without supplying me with the CCA as they have sent back the PO?

                          Anyone?

Just want to know what to do now as Cabot did not send me a CCA, and sent back the PO.

Also, what can I do about the 12% interest, and the fact that £40 been applied within a few weeks.

Sorry to be a pain all, but I love a good fight. Want it sent back to Citi, thats all.

Tya - your predicament is very similar to mine. I sent Cabot the CCA request and received the £1 PO back with a letter stating they have requested the original documentation from Citi and they anticipated it within 12 days saying they would write to me if they couldnt get it. That was towards the end of Sept and nothing since......

The last I had heard from Citi was 14 months ago saying they were collating the necessary documents after a previous CCA request so it looks as though they couldnt find them but sold the account to Cabot anyway!!

                                Me again!
Found out something interesting as well "Fire" are part of the Cabot Group and actually share the same offices although the address would make ou think differently.
And only sent Cabot a £! postal order wonder if they will send it back?!
Also going to write to Citi as it appeas they have defaulted this twice and had not business selling it to Cabot anyway.
                                Good luck to you
