  • Newbie with Mackenzie Hall / Cabot Financial Probs

    Hi People,

I stumbled on this site by chance whilst researching these "people".

Had a letter from Mac Hall yesterday regarding a debt from cabot originating from Barclays!

The offer was a reduced settlement offer but with no further information as to what the debt is actually for!

I fired of a statute barred letter as if the debt is mine it's over 15 years old but from the searching i've done if they stay true to form they will now return the said debt to Cabot!

Should i pre-empt Cabot and send them a statute barred letter as well or just wait for them to start their deforrestation attempt as i'm sure they will!:tinysmile_hmm_t2:

Hi and welcome to the site, personally I'd wait for Cabot to get in touch (don't want to look too eager do you).

Honestly, ANY letters from Mucky Hall should be filed under Ignore.
These "people" specialise in chasing statute barred and completely unenforceable debts,
Now as they are acting as an agent for another DCA they CANNOT take any of the action that their letter refers to, so DON'T panic in that respect.

Don't even bother acknowledging their existence, as it only encourages them

Loads of people have dealings with them, can you outline whats been going on and we can advise further. I would hast'n to add that they are a useless shower and are really nothing to be bothered about.
