  • order to obtain information?

I have a ccj action against me for an old credit card debt sold to Cabot they are threating both a warrant of control and/or an order to obtain information.

IN regards to an order to obtain information does that have to be served personally can I just avoid them? any other advice about this would be welcome.

    many thanks

    Hi SAMEOLD9999

    Welcome to LB

    The following is comprehensive.

I don't think avoiding is a good idea.

The procedure and requirements are in CPR Part 71 (https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/pr...l/rules/part71) and Practice Direction 71 (https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/pr...rt71/pd_part71).
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

They will be able to get an order for substituted service if you are evasive.
