  • Mortimer Clarke (Cabot Financial Uk Ltd)

    Hi
Got a knock on the door before 9am this morning, it was Engage services who was working on behalf of Mortimer Clarke Solicitors. My partner had opened as i was sleeping. I was woken up and went to the door, he was talking to me asking me if they could phone me and what was my number. Half asleep still i gave my number. Dont know what the debt is for. He left a letter which says how much i owe Cabot and need to contact within 7 days. In a time like this how do they know if i wasnt self isolating or not. Maybe not even able to work. Who does this at a time like this. Im so annoyed at this moment in time.

They don't care, all they are interested in is the money. Having given them a phone number then prepare to be bombarded. Best answer to these that knock on the door is a two word reply, the second of which is Off.

      To add to Toms advice

if you do get called, make sure you keep records,. date time number etc. Its important that you do this because if you do end up being pursued and they have harrased you then you can raise an unfair relationship defence which will need evidence of the harassment

After i had fully woken up i was kicking myself for giving them my number, i would not have usually been so stupid. They have used this opportunity to get people at home. I know they will be calling me constantly now
