  • Restons solicitors threaten ccj

Hello all! Hoping for some advice, owed money to Caboot financial and they have apparently referred my account to Restons solicitors. Got a letter from Restons today basically saying pay the amount in full in 30 days or we are going to get a ccj. Eeeek what do I do?

Not sure what, what is it all about means but I'll give some more information. Basically I got a letter from Restons solicitors today saying its persuant to the pre action protocol for debt claims. It's also got a form they have asked me to fill in detailing my income and expenses.

From what you have posted it seems that Restons solicitors have sent you a formal Letter Before Claim. You need to take this seriously or they will issue a claim. You have 30 days to respond to that LBC.

You say that Restons have been instructed by Cabot. Who was the original creditor who assigned the debt to Cabot?

How much is the debt which they are chasing?

When did you last make a payment towards this debt (assuming that you recognise the debt)?

When (what year) did you open the account?

How did you open the account (i.e online, in branch, response to a mail shot etc) ?

What was the account (such as a credit card, loan, bank overdraft, utility account)?

Hello Di thank you for your response. The original credit agreement was with jd Williams Ltd in April 2011, agreement was terminated November 2015 and picked up by cabot the same month. It was a catalogue and was an online ageement. The last payment was in March 2015.
