  • Cabot - seeking friendly advice

    Hi gents and Ladies,

i have just received a letter today from ‘Cabot Financial’ introducing themselves. I defaulted d in 2013 on a current Santander account due to redundancy. I actually was overdrawn by £10 bit of course they chased me for £448.00 in the end. I could not pay or entertain this at that time.

showing on my credit report as satisfied 2 months ago, assuming that’s when Cabot bought this debt ?

the fact that that I was -£10 and they made it to £448 because I could not pay due to job loss and basically becoming homeless, I do not want to pay them, they do
not deserve this money, I’m my opinion of course.

will they take me to court, CCJ? Or can I ignore these parasites. I am of course at this current time trying to improve my credit rating, so do not want anything adverse from this.

I should probably add that when I lost my job at that time in 2013 and do not have a residency of my own until 2016 and did not update Santander of any of my addresses since my one defaulted on, this was not done on purpose but at that time in my life the last thing I was doing was ringing my back to tell them I am livin house to house with friends due to my frame of mind.

Cabot’s letter says “we have been informed you now live - my current address.

I suggest you make an arrangement to repay Cabot and at the same time put in a complaint to Santander, hoping that could reduce the amount you owe.

Thank you, I have contacted them to arrange a payment plan, £50.00 month.

I can's risk a CCJ at this stage, or they wouldn't of got a thing out of me.
