Hi
My opinion is that you should NEVER chase a cca request . Quite frankly you do not want them to come up with the goods - ever.
I had a quick read back and from what i see you had a letter offering a discount - is that right?. You have not received a letter before action or an actual claim?
I have an account with DLC and now Me111 and every now and again they send me letters offering me discounts, I just file it away and happily ignore. If something more serious arrives i will take the appropriate action, whatever that may be

If you have sent them the cca letter and they have not responded then no further action can be taken. Many (most) debt buyers buy debt in bulk and have no paperwork. Create file put all the correspondence in it. Ignore them unless they issue proceedings. Then come back here and we work out what to do.
As your have said it may nor be your debt. So until they prove it is done nothing. If you have spare money to give away find a charity you support and give it to them. I guarantee it will be a better use of the money.
