There is a forum link on the bottom of every Atticus post that provides plenty of information for litigants in person who are considering starting a small money claim (under £10k)
If you are unable to resolve the dispute by negotiation, then the first step is a letter before action (also known as letter before claim)
Then decide whether to use MCOL or to stick with the paper version
Before drafting the particulars of claim, research the legislation that the defendant has breached

Sorry I am new to this
There is a forum link on the bottom of every Atticus post
Searching for Atticus reveals a law company based in Manchester. Not me filling a complaint within the court system as did before. You pay I believe £35
Then decide whether to use MCOL or to stick with the paper version
I don't know what MCOL is.
I thought it would be a simple case of applying to the courts and filling in the documents.

You first need to look at the facts of the case, ask yourself have I got a case?
What you are looking to achieve? Are there other 'routes' to resolve the complaint?
Courts are a last resort, if there is ADR, you need to think about using it.
