Hello, thanks for the help so far. We were instructed to get any documents in by last Friday which we sent to the court and to the defendant, but they haven't sent us anything. Obviously don't want to get ambushed in court with anything new but not sure what the rules are in terms of when they can send us anything?

If your claim is already with the county court you could ask if they have received anything from the defendant, or any further instructions, and if so, can they forward it on. I'd always do this by email, NEVER by phone or post. (A phone call afterwards is fine but with emails you'll have a complete audit trail.)
You never know; the defence might have been posted in hard copy, sent in on time, but arrived a week later than it should've.
