  • Liable claim

I have had problems with 2 prominent people within an association. I suspected they were ruining my reputation within group of 200 people. One being a Acc secretary.
I wished to propose a media platform. I was reluctantly given permission to post it. It was approved.
it was met by his friend how made numerous accusations towards me. I did not respond in a confrontational way at all. I suspect the sec and other communicated on the matter.

the post was removed at my request. I believe it was done solely to further dis credit me. I wish to pursue a liable claim. I also wish to obtain their correspondence during the two days is this possible before lodging claim. As I believe both are liable.
    but need further evidence.

    any advice appreciated

This would be a claim in defamation. Don't.

Don't. The circumstances you describe will not clear a number of thresholds in the Defamation Act.

      NB the word is libel.
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

My full name was on it. it said things nasty thing ive not done. made accusations about me. The post was fully intended to discredit me. I have looked under the thresholds for libel . ill read it again. I have offered to not take action if he posts an apology rectifying the matters.

Thanks for the advice though it will certainly make me think very carefully. If the apology is posted in the same place it would in my mind correct/rectify the matter. I have to do something as it has ruined my credibility and reputation fully.

          You have our sympathy.
A defamation action is not the answer to your problem.
