As a litigant in person, I was not familiar with the process. I made a claim for damages. I made no mention of interest due frankly to naivety. No trial date has been set yet but due to Covid-19, it has taken a long time to get this far. By now, interest would mount up to a considerable amount, as I believe that the rate is about 8%. Is there anything which I can do at this stage of proceedings ? Does the Court have nay discretion over this ? I wrongly assumed that it was an automatic entitlement.
