Hi a few weeks ago I received a letter asking me to call a court ballif who had important documents for me. I rang her a number of times on her mobile and direct number, but never got any answer or replies to my messages. 3 weeks ago a bailiff turned up at my partners home saying I owed £522 for a debt that was supposedly been paid by an ex partner, I know my name my debt but my point is the court has demanded I pay £39.45 a week back, which I can't afford I made them an offer of £10 a week which I thought was reasonable. I dont even remember who the debt is with, and with moving around I didn't even know the debt existed. I really don't know what to do I can't afford the payments. Can someone please help asap

Did you recieve a court claim? Do you have any details about the Claim like the Claim number? Which court is dealing with this ? The bailiff should be able to give you this information so its worth making enquiries to find out more about the underlying case, it may even be possible to set aside the judgment (assuming default judgment was entered) but again its hard to advise without more detailI work for Roach Pittis Solicitors. I give my free time available to helping other on the forum and would be happy to try and assist informally where needed.
