    Lowell Default appeared on credit report following court papers

    I have recently been issued with court papers for a debt with cap1 via lowell/bryan carter which I am sure is statute barred. However I have today (26.05.2015) looke at my credit rating and a default has appeared on my account from Lowell stating it was defaulted end of June 2009? No payments/correspondence have ever been had with lowell and the cap1 debt/default wasn't previously listed? concerned as to how they can add this seeing asIi never had any dealings with them directly and seems suspiciosu it appears just as they now issued court proceedings? any advice on how to deal with this? Thanks!
