  • Consent order payments

Hello apologies if this in the wrong place.

I i have a consent order set up with BW Legal with thanks to this site, and I have a standing order set up to pay them the required amount each month.

I am meant to make a payment the first of every month but I set a standing order up for the 27th of each month so it would give me a few days to clear however this month ive completely forgot its a short month!
The payment left my bank on the 27th but I don't know how long it takes to clear. I don't want to break the terms of my consent order due to this. Will they take me straight back to court if the payment doesnt come through to them tomorrow?

    Any help would be appreicated

    Thanks

    Re: Consent order payments

if it is a standing order and the payment left your bank on the 27th you have more than honoured your agreement as it was not due until the 1st, so dont worry.

Ok Thankyou, they sent me a friendly reminder email on Friday which is when my payment came out anyway just remindering me of the payment date then it occurred to me that feb is a short month. If they don't get the payment til Monday or Tuesday it doesn't become my fault then? I thought a standing order took three days to go through?

An SO goes out on or the nearest working day after the due date.
        You should have no problem.

Ah ok so they should already have it or at least Monday?
thankyou for your responses, panicking they wouldn't receive it in time and I'd end up back to square one!

There must always be reasonable tolerance levels on payments however they maybe made, as you have a " standing order" in place standard banking procedure will apply.
