  • surprise ccj from a company that I have never heard of

Hi I seemed to have been given a ccj from a company called singlepoint for a whopping £936 I have never heard of singlepoint for one all I know is a year ago I was contacted by a company called arrow asking me about this supposed debt which of course I said I do not know anything about it and asked what they could tell me and they said very little about it so I asked if g hey could provide me with a signed copy of the credit agreement to which I had no response at all and I thought that would be the end of it
I recently applied for a bank loan and was refused on adverse data so I applied to equifax to find that my record is clear only when I appealed to the bank they informed me of this information about the amount and the time being self employed I don't throw away correspondence so I looked through my records I know it was done in Northampton ccbc and this is holding my business from growth and i do not understand why it doesn't show on my credit file from equifax when this is the same site the bank use so if they can see it why can't I or the staff at equifax either way this is unsubstantiated and needs to be removed I have always been on electoral roll and always pay my bills I might also add that it comes from an address that I had not lived at for two years before the issue date's don't add up and I am easy to find
Please help if anyone knows how to deal with this
    Regards
    Stu

There was a mobile communications company called singlepoint that was bought up by Vodafone years and years ago I think? Don't think there is any current trading under that name, but I do recall hearing of old accounts from there popping up on various forums some time back.

If it is them, then I assume that the account was likely well over 6 years old at the time any recent CCJ was obtained?

Hi nibbler thanks i have always been orange that is even more confusing I really don't know what to do to get shot of it as it is clearly a mistake also if it was over 6 years old as I have read on here that should have been statute barred before it went to court do you know who I could contact to rectify this matter.

If it's certainly not your debt then you would need to contact them telling them this and why.

Plus that if they do not cooperate in removing the CCJ or provide proof of the debt, you will be applying to have it set aside.

Arrow are awkward barstewards, so likely you will have to apply, but at least that way you have given them a chance.
