  • Civil Enforcement Parking charge threat of court action

I have been ignoring letters relating to a parking charge at a Coop Car park since the summer of 2012.

The ticket machine wasn't working on exit and I rang the number and left my details. I owed about £3

My call was ignored and a parking fine issued.

Advice then was to ignore all letters so I have.
Today I received a letter offering to reduce the fine if I paid within a week .
If not then they will apply to Northampton court for a judgement against me. They enclose a draft of what the court papers would look like.
Obviously no case number or seal as they are just drafts.
I know this is a scare tactic so where do I go from here?:tinysmile_hmm_t2:

Contact the Co-op and express your feelings to them about how they treat their customers CEO steve.murrells@co-operative.coop

Also reply to the letter which i can help with if you post up what they sent.

Ignoring, at this stage, is still a valid option as people who send filled in papers tend to be trying to intimidate rather than informing you of what will actually happen.

I am loathe to contact them as I have just ignored them so far as it was before the rules changed.
I am thinking about emailing the CEO.
Also wondering why it's at Northampton court and not where I live or where the car park was.

The allocation stage of the claim is when it is sent to your local court.
