citation with wrong details on it

I received a citation today from someone i used to do business with, he says i owe him money for goods supplied.
The citation has another companies name on it and the amount on it is also wrong.
Is the citation valid and if not can they just go back to the court and have this changed and served again?

What exactly have you received? Is it a summons for court and do you owe the business any money and is it a letter demanding it?

is this UK or US?

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
