  • howard cohen and a ccj

Hi was wondering if there was anything I can do about this.

Howard Cohen solicitors have phoned ask asking for repayments on an account held by CL finance have a CCJ against us and have a charge on the property, this is for a debt my wife had on her Barclaycard and they have had he CCJ for about a year and a half.

The time at which it was issued was a very bad one for us and we didn't receive the initial paperwork on time we were became overwhelmed by everything and just couldn't cope, well thats life. Now however we would like to do something about it are getting a bit more umph about us and were wondering what we can do.

Is it possible to get the CCJ set aside?
Is it possible to challenge the amount of the debt?
If so how, what steps should we take?

    thanks in advance

Really and truly, the time to set aside a CCJ is at the time or very soon after one is applied.

On what grounds would you hope to have the CCJ set aside? If it is simply one of not receiving the paperwork on time, then I would think this is tenuous at best.

Do you not agree with the amount of the debt? Are you keeping up the repayments for this?
