I'm just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this judge. Also does anyone know what case this was? Or how I could find out. Thanks!

I don't know anything specific about him or the case that led to the complaint but as he is only a Deputy District Judge - lowest level of judge - it was probably a small claims court case in the county court. Those cases aren't reported so you won't find a record of it unless anyone has posted about it online.
The complaint is about his conduct not about the correctness of his legal decision- making so it doesn't affect the judgement he made in that (or any previous) case. All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.

Thank you. I understand that it was his behaviour rather than his decision that got him the reprimand. Nevertheless, it was his decision that led to the claimant asking him for clarification several times and to him then losing his rag. I'd like to know what that decision was because he just made one in my case that is bizarre to say the least.

Decisions can be Appealed, but you need to act quickly.Originally posted by Roisin View PostThank you. I understand that it was his behaviour rather than his decision that got him the reprimand. You can Appeal if the Judge got the law wrong and if a procedural mistake has 'occurred'.
As stated by Pallasathena, the case won't help you.

Maybe not, but I'm curious as to how many other cases he might have made bizarre decisions on.
I intend to appeal, but until the Court or the claimant supply me with the original application filed in September 2024 that lead to the decision he made, I'm really not able to. Though I suppose that I wasn't are my grounds for asking it to be set aside?
He says he made his decision based on reading a letter, presumably the application, from the claimant. I have no idea what was in that letter/application because the claimant didn't send it to me. I think a breach of the CPR? I wasn't told what was going on for seven months, and I'm still not sure. I've asked the claimant to supply applications/letters they've sent to the Court in 2024/25. Waiting for a reply.
I think the judge got it wrong when he approved a Tomlin Order in April 2025 with a schedule that ended in March 2025. That automatically meant I was in default!!! I can't see how he thought that was fair.
I also wonder if not supplying me with the application, etc. was an abuse of process? Or a procedural mistake?
Wishing I'd studied law instead of linguistics!!!!Last edited by Roisin; 14th July 2025, 17:10:PM.
