£1918 PCN Court Claim for not renewing a free parking permit

    I would not be expecting a response, not yet anyway as they are probably discussing it with their client.

    there's a long way to go before it reaches a court hearing, and they may well discontinue later on in the process.

      Hi, completely missed your response as I didn't see it went onto page 2.

      Things have progressed. I have been set a Directions questionnaire which I am filling out. Today, however they have responded completely ignoring the tenancy agreement I have sent and now have said "Please note, in order for us to review your circumstances fully, we would need further evidence that you have a valid permit for the dates of the Parking Charges." which doesn't make any sense to me as I have never claimed that.

      They have also proposed a settlement of £1200, which I don't know if I should be happy about or not.

      Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

        Recently DCBL seem prepared to negotiate a lower figure to settle out of court.
        I think they have been losing cases and now are ready to accept almost anything rather than lose wholesale.
        If you are prepared to settle for a lower amount you could send a counter offer (marked without prejudice)

        I imagine the letter is their standard template, which never really addresses the questions

        Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

        Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

        If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
