If there is a 30 day invoice and its not paid does the company have to follow any type of rules like sending letters before proceeding to court

I would like to add that the products purchased were for my own use in my own house does this not make me the consumer a howdens were fully aware that these were for use by me they are not within my trade or profession as I am an electrician

How did Howdens know this? Why did you open a trade account? Why have you not paid?

I opened a trade account to purchase a kitchen from them as it was the one I liked.

I had cash flow issues so was unable to pay on the invoice date

My advice? Talk to Howdens and come up with a payment plan. You have had the goods and need to pay for them. The only dispute is how and when,

Are you actually a sole trader in this trade, or do you only occasionally enter into transactions belonging to a business of this type?

You said Howdens knew you were not purchasing for your business, despite your having opened a trade account. I asked how they knew that.

Did you have the cash flow problems at the time you bought the goods? Is that why you opened a trade account?

I told them it was for my house also on the invoice the reference is own home

No I opened it as it was a cheaper place to purchase the kitchen
