  • Lowells British Gas County court proceedings

First time posting after coming across the forum on a google search.

I’ve received county court papers where Lowell’s are pursuing a British Gas debt from 2017. I was disputing the amount with BG at the time as they have applied charges that I didn’t agree with for late payment mainly because they were sending bills to the supply address not the address I was living at.

After a few years Lowell’s started sending the normal junk which I’ve ignored up until the time the CC papers arrived.

I’ve logged in on money claim online and ticked that I intend to defend the claim full and requested the extra time, Thats where it brings me to this post as to how to go forward and request information or write a defence so say I was disputing the amount BG were trying to charge me.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Regards
    Simon

      Hi Rob,
My defence would be along the lines of not agreeing with the full amount of the debt. The bills were around £100 per gas and electric, with little to none usage but mainly late payment fees as the bills were going to the wrong address.
