  • CCJ letter no previous warning letter

    Good afternoon all,

I am new to the forum, but just wanted some advice regarding a CCJ letter I received this morning.

Lowell Portfolio Ltd have issued a CCJ against me but I was never given warning of this or I would have put something in place to begin clearing the debt.

I have been suffering a lot with my mental health over the years and 3-4 months ago begun sorting all outstanding debts (mainly late payments, nothing major). I have been focusing on my credit file. Lots of missing information on there that I had to sort.

This particular outstanding debt is surprising to me as I completely forgot about it over the years.

Due to struggling with my mental health, I ignored many letters for months. I have opened these within the last 4-6 weeks and haven’t had anything from Lowell about this debt. I keep all letters until I have dealt with the issue.

Now I have a CCJ through the door. Original debt was £480.00. It’s now £658.40. I cannot afford to arrange payments for the extra amounts added; my financial situation has decreased dramatically within the last 18 months.

Where do I stand with this? Can I “admit part of the amount claimed” and explain my situation to them?

This is very stressful for me and something I could do without right now.

Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Pariss11

    Firstly try not to worry.

Do you know what the debt is? Credit Card, Utility etc.

    Some info on CCJ's - https://www.gov.uk/county-court-judgments-ccj-for-debt

I would send Lowell Portfolio a Subject Access Request.
