Yesterday i received a part 8 claim form from an ex tenants solicitor (no win no fee) about unprotected deposit for a couple of years before we realised.
we thought they had stopped the claim as we have heard nothing from them since october last year & had no response from emails we sent stating they left owing 3 months rent & the property not in condition it was let out to them.
the main problem is that it is in my name, i am not the owner of the flat or the landlord. The business of which i am a director along with 2 others is the landlord & owner. My signature is not on any if the documents they have included.
This has not come directly from a court, it has come from the solicitor in a hand written envelope (amateur address writing at best, very strange way its written) The date on the part 8 is 31.3.21 but i only got it yesterday?!
there is a claim number but only on the Acknowledgment of service.
there is no instruction of where or who to return to.
Should this form not come direct from the court written on the claim?? Or are the court documents likely to follow??
