  • Bw legal threatening me with court proceedings

Good afternoon, I received a letter from bw legal stating they’re going to take court proceedings against me for not paying a parking ticket from some private firm that I didn’t even know I had on a car I don’t even have anymore from 2016. I’ve recieved phone call after phone call from them and honestly just thought they were one of those “we’ve heard you’ve had an accident” calls so didn’t call back and just ignored as the message was the same everytime just saying to ring them back. I live in a different address to when they claim I got the ticket so I’m also wondering how they obtained this info on me? The letter was dated a week before Christmas saying I had till the 15th of jan to submit an income/expenditure form telling how much I could pay a month. Please help! I’m self employed now living off universal credit as I haven’t worked since March 2020 due to the pandemic am extremely worried about this.

    would much appreciate some advice

    kind regards

    francesca.
