  • Vehicle Control Services Ltd fine - Sheffield - please help

    Dear Members.

Parked in a bay one evening without seeing that I needed to pay.

Wrote in trying to argue that there was inadequate signage at the time - they had just recently removed free parking.

I have received this letter and don't know what to do.

Can someone please help me write a response?

    Many thanks

That's not a letter from VCS, it's a claim form from the court. VCS are taking you to court. Take down the form and repost after removing the password.

Acknowledge the claim online using the details and password on the form. Put nothing in the defence, nothing. This gives you 33 days from the date of issue to get your defence to the court.

What other documents have you received from VCS? In particular the first Notice to Keeper that you received.

The particulars of claim are vague and don't give the a reason for the alleged breach by the driver. Send a SAR to VCS requesting all the information they hold about you and in addition you require, on order to narrow the issues between you, a copy of all the documents they intend to use in court, by return and at the most within 7 days.

          Do not identify the driver

The amount claimed will be queried

            Photo reposted. Thank you.

So you definitely believe I should defend this claim and not pay up?

If this is the case then I will use the example SAR on this website and include your additional information re the documents they wish to use in court.

Please confirm if this is correct. I will send a copy on here for checking if that's ok.
