Indeed, a lesson definitely learnt here. Unfortunately other things have been happening around here over the past couple of years and this really wasn’t the most important thing to get sorted.
It does pain me to have to pay these crooks but I just hope karma comes back on them one day.

question: I have received a letter now saying the judgment has been made against me and that I should pay within the month to avoid it staying on my record entirely.

Is this now already on my record? But will come off when paid? (as long as within the month)
only ask as I done a quick quote for a credit card this evening which done a ‘soft search’ rath than a proper credit check and I got declined, which is very unusual for me. So can only assume this is already showing against me?

      thanks

If you pay it within a month of the judgment being handed down it isn't entered onto Registry Trust .
If you pay after the month, the entry can be marked 'satisfied'.
Any Credit Reference Agency databases can be similarly updated.

Do you have any intention of doing so, or is this just hypothetical?

Have you checked Trust Online to see if the CCJ has been registered?
