Evening all,
A while ago I started the sign up process for the slater and Gordon’s VW emissions registration claim, as I had a car that was effected and when it came to selling it reduced the value quite a bit.
Now when I created the account all I did was literally create it. I didn’t input any car details, no utility bill or passport for identification verification. Just name, address and email.
I never finished it because when it said ‘these are the documents we need’, I had a look and realised I don’t have them anymore so couldn’t finalise the registration.
I’ve had an email today, it’s a generic email to everyone who hasn’t completed their registration, asking me to finalise my account and complete my schedule of information questionnaire otherwise I will be struck off the claim and open to costs from VW and slater and Gordon.
Costs such as hourly fees, the email also says -
‘ We’ve served your claim against VW and you’re now a claimant in the litigation. You need to complete the Schedule of Information Questionnaire to remain in the Group Action and to secure your chance of claiming compensation from VW for their emissions cheating.’
surely that’s BS? Why would they serve a claim for me when I haven’t even finished my registration or provided any details of having any of the vehicles?
Also on my registration page it says that my registration is still awaiting approval and that I need to register details of at least one car to progress the claim, which I haven’t done?
I’ve emailed them and awaiting a reply, will I be made to pay some costs even though I never fully made the claim?
Abit worried about this... wish I never bothered now
Any advice from anyone?
Id like to think considering I never completed my registration, provided any proof of identity and haven’t provided one car details I won’t be liable for anything.
Thanks
