  • Lowell CCJ Arrears

So I’ve received a letter from lowell titles “Second Notice of county court judgement (ccj) arrears”

I’ve not had any previous communication from them so this is pretty unexpected and alarming.

The original company they list is HSBC and I haven’t had an account with them for over 7 years and have never held a credit card. (And haven’t had any contact from them in the years since).

I have checked the register and I don’t have any CCJs held against me. Surely if a ccj was in arrears it would be on the register already? And I have a really good credit rating at the moment.

I have started an email chain with Lowell, as wish to keep a paper trail and plan on visiting HSBC in the morning to see if they know what it is.

If the debt is genuine, then I am in a position to pay and that’s fine and not too much of a concern. My concern is the whole mention of it being a CCJ in arrears, bit worried about that being attached to me, especially without any knowledge and how it could effect my family and business even with me not currently being able to find a trace of it.

I’ve searched for similar things and seems to be a common occurance and bit of a mix bagged of opinions on how to deal with it.
