I wish you the best of luck with it. You need to put up a strong reason why you and how will you support your daughter if you keep her.

have you got a solicitor Shellbellz (you can get legal aid for court cases against the LA and social services)?? What reasons are ss giving for you to not be able to care for your daughter? How old is she? How long has she been in the care of the LA?

Apologies I arrived very very late. If you lose the case you still have the right to appeal that judgement. You need to seek permission to appeal and then to appeal. To make a general point on here, non-consensual adoption ie adoption without the consent of the parents or dispensed by the court, is one of the most arcane things that we have in this country. In fact, the costs that are incurred in the whole process can sometimes be over £500k per case. If that money was used to put in help that might be required then perhaps the cash crisis that councils are going on about might not be so bad. There are some programs that help such as PAUSE or FDAC(Family Drug Addiction Court), however the latter has had its funding cut by central government despite the fact that it worked and that it allowed parents to keep their children.
However, it appears that clearly we have an issue with closed adoption. If we are saying that you save money on keeping families together then how much money do we save on mental health caused by the permanent removal of the child. Why can we not think about a form of open adoption and leave closed adoption for those children who need protection from an abusive parent ie sexual and physical abuse?
I'd better get off my soap box now
