  • OVO CCJ different amounts on claim

    bit of a weird story

So OVO issued a CCJ last year in June
i submitted a defence because the amount was about £15 higher than my final bill plus court cost etc. I’ve copied and pasted what it says on recent transactions on the MCOL

A claim was issued against you on 17/06/2025

Your acknowledgment of service was submitted on 01/07/2025 at 20:53:14

Your acknowledgment of service was received on 02/07/2025 at 08:06:09

Your defence was submitted on 27/07/2025 at 12:34:16

Your defence was received on 28/07/2025 at 01:05:33

    Case Stay Lifted on 12/09/2025

DQ sent to you on 12/09/2025

DQ filed by claimant on 12/09/2025

General sanctions order was made on 04/11/2025

Defence was struck out on 29/12/2025

A judgment was issued against you on 07/05/2026

I didn’t receive a DQ? And if I’m honest I forgot about the ccj until I got a notification from clear score to say I have a ccj

now I’ve paid the balance so my OVO account is at £0
but here’s where it gets weird

    Final Bill was £700.90

    Claim made was £712.15
    plus costs at £140

    Total was £852.15

    CCJ issued at £923

    what do I do here?

    OVO account at £0

The CCJ was issued against you for £923? How much have you paid OVO?

Yes £923 was what has been issued but £852.15 was what was claimed. I’ve paid OVO £852.15

I don't know why the amounts are different but be aware of the risk you are running by not paying it in full.

If the CCJ was issued on 7th May and you settle it for the full CCJ amount within 30 days the CCJ will be deleted and will not appear on your credit record.

But if you pay less than the CCJ amount it will likely stay on your credit record for six years as 'partially satisfied'. That can affect your ability to get future credit.

It might make practical sense to pay the full £923 and get the CCJ deleted but you need to do it now.

Your information comes from the MCOL summary. Have you asked the court for a copy of the actual judgement to check it does say £923?

Have you asked OVO why the difference?

That’s what I don’t understand. I haven’t had a reason why the judgement is higher than the amount claimed. Who did I ring to find out OVO or the court?
