I have been debt free for over 15 years , well I thought I had. I have no ccjs. Nothing adverse on my credit score - infact it is really good but I have recently been receiving letters from a debt company saying I owe money and to contact them. They dont say how much but they keep sending letters that I have up to now ignored. Last week a man left a card in my letterbox saying he was a debt collector and to contact them. He said he left calling card because I was not at home. He did not even knock. I saw him on my cctv and assumed he just dropped a leaflet through. What shall I do ? Surely after 15 years no one can chase you for debt. I am retired now and am in poor health and do not need the stress of strangers trying to force their way into my home.
